I am at $700 per 6months, but that is for my 951 and my 2002 530 and 2003 ML320. I have progressive and the policy covers me and my wife. I could break out the 951, but the rate may change so it is tough to have a good number. Figuring all 3 cars the same would be fair.

This for standard full coverage. $100 deductable on the newer cars and $500 on the 951.

Perfect driving record. Driving for 9 years.

$1,000,000 Liability + Collision + Comprehensive
$300 deductable (The lowest I can get. I hate paying deductables)

Stupid expensive Canada.

Yeah, but do they give you problems when it becomes time for a claim?

Wallace, I would investigate the differential in premium if you were to move your deductble to $1,000 or $1,500. You might find it substantial. I justified it on the basis that if I have less than $1,500 in damage, I am going to pay myself rather than pay for 5X or more in insurance premium increases... Let's face it $1,500 is a belts and wp job...
Fergus did you check your PM? I was wondering about bimmerspecialist.com and if you use them.

I have mine on coverage for just my garage/trailer/transport right now and I think it's around $280 a year. When I had it on the road I think it was around $780 per 6 months for full coverage (including glass/fire/theft) and a $750 deductible. It's been awhile so I can't remember exactly.

Congrats on the purchase the car looks very clean!

I should also mention that my S2 is my only car, daily driven about 30kms a day.
This makes my insurance much more expensive.

Increasing deductibles to $500 or $1000 actually doesn't save that much in premiums. I looked at the difference when I renewed this year.
Vancouver is a very expensive place to live.

Outside of Greater Vancouver, car insurance is roughly 40% less.

Insurance for a DD is just as much here, in Phx, AZ.

Nelson, nice car! I still think you should have bought mine, but I guess that one will do.

Actually, I'm glad mine didn't sell. I'm putting in some more track car goodies and converting the interior to black. Gonna be nice!

You should have a look at Canadian Direct Ins. ICBC quoted me something like what you're paying, but with extended coverage through CDI and basic with ICBC the total for my car is about half what you're paying.

You should think more about raising your deductible. Take the difference in your premiums each month and put it into a separate bank account (auto-transfer so you don't have to think about it) in case you need it. You're still paying the same thing (your new lower premium + your auto-transfer), and (after a while) you'll still pay the same deductible (your original deductible plus what you have in your new account to make the higher deductible). Except now, if you never need it, you have a bank account full of money.
