There's a 2.5l in it now that has been in and out a couple of times (oil pan leak..). However, I have some other nice stuff in the garage... this old 968 turbo engine, a worked CEP/PD 968 block and a complete S2 engine
We'll see if the 2.5l remains for next season. With a 2.5l 8v you really don't have that much to loose. IF the 2.5l 8v remains you can look forward to some dyno runs pushing the GT3582R at 30 psi with E85

huhu I can assure you the incident left a bang loud enough and a smoke cloud big enough to attract the local bomb squad

what kind of pistons were you running to get 9.5:1 compression? I was under the impression most off the shelf pistons for the 951 were lower compression ratio

Sorry to hear about the explosion though - those are some pretty gnarly pictures you've got!

So, what was your full throttle ignition advance?

That engine was 3liter 968 unit with stock 968 pistons, not 951 engine. Only rods were 951. 9.5:1 CR was achieved by using thicker Cometic headgasket.

True depending on the EMS (and how it is set up). However he said that his tuner didn't tune for that much boost... so it is not unlikely that those ranges are CC of his highest tuned load range.

BTW, awesome new avitar!

Duke's engine was running a Finnish made Tatech EMS. A friend of mine uses same ems with his 8V 3.0L 951.
When i ordered better rods for mine, Pete's & Arto's 951 3.0L engines, the rod man checked very carefully original 951 rods. He said they are good for 300 hp, all above that is a risky business. He also pointed out a place where oem rods will break

Stock forged pieces only good for 300hp?
I don't buy that, not even for road racing. Hell I've seen pencil-stick Honda rods survive 300whp. Ours are much beefier.
