Default Flooding on startup

My car will intermittently flood and blow a cloud of fuel smoke sometimes on startup. It will also search for idle(when at operating temp) at times and sometimes it won't.

I have a autothority maf, chips, and the four turn dial thing in the glove box.

Could the two problems be related? Anyone have any suggestions?

I was just also reading in a different thread from a person selling a Maf, injectors, etc. He said his system doesn't die at idle after high rpms. Mine is doing that as well.

I have the same problem at times. Once in a while, the idle will hunt; or it will run VERY rich.

I also notice my ground wire from the battery gets very hot at times, time to clean the ground connections.

mine started flooding out when cold after startup but once it was warm it would run fine. It finally wouldnt start one day and i found the vac line to the regulator to be unhooked.
