Default Hard Pipe hose clamps

For those of us that have the hard pipes, I would imagine we've all had at one poit or another a hose clamp come loose or the silicon hose come off because the clamp wasn't tight enough.

If you're not using v-bands, and I can't imagine many are, then the problem starts with weak hose clamps (most are only rated to 25lbs) and then you add boost and they can be problematic.

On the advice of Darwin (moddedeverything951s) I started tlooking at t-bolt clamps. They are rated to 75lbs. Better, and should have been fine, but then I came across these high-torque clamps. These things are rated up to 300lbs. They are a similar design to the "worm" clamps we're all used to seeing, but these are much thicker material and are made of stainless steel. Best of all, they are about 1/2 the cost of the t-bolts ones.

I'm just so excited to not have to worry about these clamps coming off at the wrong moment!

I can source these if anyone is interested. They are about $35 for a set of 10.

On or off of the car?

In reality, they don't look much different than the "normal" cheapo worm ones. The gear housing mechanism is definately beffier, the band is beefier, and they are stainless. Other than that they're not much to look at.

Yes I use clamps that have a 12mm nut on them because after 21psi those little screw things just pop off!

I will fling up a pic of one later getting ready to go to work now but i got my from a NAPA for like 8 bucks a clamp.

Thumbs up niiiiice clamps!!

O.K the clamp the the left is a victim to boost levels over 21PSI! the clamp on the right can hold more boost then your motor can take!Name: IMG_0548.JPG

That's a T-bolt clamp.

Nice but expensive. That's what I am using.

Use these if you have $150 a clamp to spend
