This discussion can go and go forever. It's quite common autoindustry borrow/steal ideas from competitors.
I have had 968 mirrors/handles in my 951 almost 10 years, i think they fit great. I can undestand it's wise to keep some models original, like 951 cab, but my 1988 US spec 951 is not such a collectors item, so i can modify it. I still have all original parts left though.

I had forgotten how damned good the 944 Turbo looks. Browsing this theard makes me miss my old car, a 1990. Luckily I sold it to someone I am still in contact with, the guy that owned it in the mid 90's, his first Porsche love. Had to have it back again. Think he has gone back to D90s and flags and has had the interior re-trimmed to new.
