I disagree. I think the flag mirrors go better with the squarish 951 front clip. Aero mirrors are for 964/928/968 cars, IMHO.
The flag mirrors are period-correct and constitute yet another hint of the '80s Porsche design team's marked Ferrari influence when designing the 944, along with the pop up headlights, integrated driving lights, etc. ...

At any rate, the 924/944 flag mirrors most likely draw from the Ferrari 3-series flag mirrors, which remained essentially unchanged from the early '70s until 1989, when the 348 was released with Testarossa styled mirrors.

This discussion can go and go forever. It's quite common autoindustry borrow/steal ideas from competitors.
I have had 968 mirrors/handles in my 951 almost 10 years, i think they fit great. I can undestand it's wise to keep some models original, like 951 cab, but my 1988 US spec 951 is not such a collectors item, so i can modify it. I still have all original parts left though.
