You got to get the 968 mirrors to set that great looking car off.

It's always the worst time because you do it all up nice and shiny to sell and then look at it and think "How can I sell this, it looks so good???"

I disagree. I think the flag mirrors go better with the squarish 951 front clip. Aero mirrors are for 964/928/968 cars, IMHO.

The flag mirrors are period-correct and constitute yet another hint of the '80s Porsche design team's marked Ferrari influence when designing the 944, along with the pop up headlights, integrated driving lights, etc. ...

Meh i'll be putting 968 mirrors on mine. Although I think my opinion on this issue would be obvious looking at my car.

I suppose 944 models got those features from 924 which was drawn in the early 70's by one Dutchman Harm Laagy....

Yes, and it is widely acknowledged that Harm Lagaay and his boss Anatole Lapine took several design queues from the Ferrari Daytona when conceiving the 924.

At any rate, the 924/944 flag mirrors most likely draw from the Ferrari 3-series flag mirrors, which remained essentially unchanged from the early '70s until 1989, when the 348 was released with Testarossa styled mirrors.

Yeah except he's got 968rs rear wing and a non stock splitter so I don't think stock look is in question here? Each to their own nonetheless.

I think 968 mirrors are a great aesthetics upgrade for the 951, I dunno it just makes it look more slick and agressive...just my 2 cents

Or are they from 1974 911...

This discussion can go and go forever. It's quite common autoindustry borrow/steal ideas from competitors.
I have had 968 mirrors/handles in my 951 almost 10 years, i think they fit great. I can undestand it's wise to keep some models original, like 951 cab, but my 1988 US spec 951 is not such a collectors item, so i can modify it. I still have all original parts left though.
