Just thought I'd bump up this old thread as it was quite helpful to me picking my wheels. Here's what I've been test fitting on the 1989 S2 (the front has Charlie arms and racer's edge hubs). The front fenders are fiberglass and I may have to roll the rear fenders but I won't know until spring when I get it out of the garage. I can fit one finger between the rim and the 2.5" spring:
Front 18X10 et58 with 255 tire
Rear 18X10 et52 with 285 tire
Front 18X10 et58 with 255 tire
Rear 18X10 et52 with 285 tire
What kind of wheels are those?

They are the closeout F2 TRmotorsports. Forged and weigh about 22lbs in 18X10. Talk to Damon at tirerack, because they were almost sold out when I bought mine... and I bought 8 of them

That was the only size they had left. They still might have some wheels left, the guy didn't say how many they had left. According to the posts in the other thread there aren't many left, <16.
I couldn't get ahold of Damon, he had already left, so I just called the regular customer service and they hooked me up. You have to give them your car info, just tell them it's a custom fit though.

Damon kinda screwed me on this one. Go to the 996 GT2/3 Section under Water cooled porsches on the frame on the left. Look for the thread. He told me he only had 3 18x11.5's .. I bought all 3. I wanted two 18x12's. For the rear and made it known then. I posted my phone number on the thread with a WANT TO BUY post. and left a PM with Damon back in Novermber. He posted these exact rims i asked for in the same thread I asked for them. 4 post down. The ONE 18x11.5 is clearly the one missing from my set... And sold them to others. Kinda pissed.
