Can you count sync errors? The ones on the car come up at start up. If I reset them, they stay off until I rev the engine and then come on again. I haven't scoped the signals yet, but there is a sensor mounted in the cam pulley housing.

After clearing , do the sync error counts climb while swinging the engine , if you swing and the count goes up initially then stop , then you will be able to live with it , if it continues counting say 20,30,40,60,120,330 etc, as long as you are swinging the engine then this will be an issue and the engine will never run correctly ..

Now what type of spark plugs ?

OK, I still don't know where I can see the sync error counts. Can you tell me where to look? The car is running OK, but pretty rich. I assume this is because the last tuning was done with with a bad (lean reading) O2 sensor. If I manage to get the LC-1 working with the M4 tomorrow, I'll sort that out and then look at the reference and sync sensor outputs.

I'm still not ok with 14,299 teeth per second at 6500 rpm that .00007 of a second apart

LOL. And to make it worse, the DME then divides each tooth into 4 quarters...

Assuming the error count is correct in the i2 software, I only get 1 error when I first rev the engine. After that it stays at one. Can anyone confirm that this is where the errors are counted?

I just thought I'd post a progress report.

The 02 sensor was not only bad, but it was the wrong one. It was a 4 wire from a Mercedes instead of the correct LSM. It was reading much leaner than the LC-1 and was slow to respond. I believe the car was "tuned" using the bad/wrong 02 sensor and so was running very rich under boost.

I did get the LC-1 installed and functioning as the wideband for the Motec. Both Quick Lambda and Lambda Control (closed loop) seem to be working.

I would like to switch to the 60-2 wheel (which I did find) and go to coilpacks and wasted spark.

As usual, any help and/or comments will be appreciated.

I am currently doing some street tuning before taking the car to the dyno for some WOT runs.

Sorry i wasn't more helpful I think you will be advising me when i set up my "LSU 4.2" O2 The motec forum is a bit slow i was watching . but if your ever stuck just email Mark Mckoy direct he always comes back in a couple of days

Sorry for the confusion I meant LSM, not LM-11. I don't have an LSM 02 sensor and they cost more than the LC-1, with a gauge included. So that's the direction I took. I've tuned out the over rich problem, but will need a Dyno for final WOT tuning. The part throttle seems to be the most difficult to get right, so I'll be concentrating on street tuning that. I have tried using quick lambda for that, but the results don't seem to be consistent.

The tach is reading about 200 RPM high at idle. I'm not sure how its wired up, but I ll take a look at it soon.
