Default Build Numbers

I tried a search,

Does anyone have build numbers for the 951?? Numbers produced, each year, and possibly even each color??

I'm really curious to know!

Thanks

Check production numbers in the 944 FAQ, courtesy of Kevin Gross: http://www.connactivity.com/~kgross/FAQ/944faq.html

As for 951 cabs, see my sig.

To the best of my knowledge Porsche kept no records of how many 951s were in a particular color each year. I have only seen a list showing the color breakdown of the 1988 Porsche 944 turbo S cars.

From my observations the rarest colors for a 951 are summer yellow/pearl/green. I've only come across one summer yellow car, verified 8 or 9 pearl cars and seen maybe 3 or 4 green cars. Following that would be the blues. After that would be the remaining colors - white/red/silver/gray/black. Most likely guards red and black are the most common 944 turbo colors.

I think that the last four digits of your VIN show what number your car is out of the 3210 944 turbos brought into the States in 1987. My car for instance is number 0956. Back in 2000 I owned car number 3129.

Forgot the burgundy cars and inda red - not really an expert here - just sharing observations. I would say the burgundy cars are more common that blues but not in the red/black/gray popularity bracket. India red is pretty rare - probably even more so than the various blues.

Very interesting site, Thank You!! My VIN is WPOAA2958HN150125. Any clues on what the 8 is? The decoder says it should just be a filler character, but mine's a number??

I would be curious to know if your oil pan has the oil level sender installed and hooked up in it. My car had the place for it but the sender was not installed. It did have the wire on the harness though.
