Jon, when I'm home I'll be on vacation so I'll have every day free. If you get a few days off and don't mind coming up to help, by all means head on up.

Unfortunately not close to you ehall. You did drive close to me tho on your way home with your new 951 tho. I live in Arlington, Texas (Dallas/Ft. Worth metroplex) so I don't know if that's doable all the way from Florida. If you wanted to fly out tho, well...that's your prerogative! Definitely wouldn't mind the extra help, especially from someone familiar with 951s.

Forgive my ignorance here, but am I correct in reading that these slip fit connections don't need to be welded together? How do the headers stay together? Is it just the friction of the slip joint?

The headers/exhaust look great, can't wait to see how it all looks when its put together

The slip fit connections are a good 2-3 inches deep and also very tight. Their purpose is to allow for expansion of the header without stressing the metal and causing cracks. Once the header/cross-over combo is bolted to the car, the slip fit connections will be fixed in place and the header will not come apart.

Very nice. I have built headers once, and welding the runners to the collector was a massive PITA (its not easy to get to the middle of the 4-1 connection to weld all the way around the joint and ensure a good seal. This sounds like a really effective way to get around that and cut down on the risk of headers cracking

Definitely dude.

Let me know when you're back in town, I'm always up to work on the cars and shoot the ****.
