I purchased my first Porsche ( an 85' NA 944) two weeks ago, and I've been creating a list of things that need fixing. The PO apparently had the windshield replaced, but never replaced the rubber trim or the metal trim around the windshield. I purchased the rubber trim from 944 online (very happy with their service) and was all set to install it when I noticed two small metal blocks on the bottom edge of the windshield which were obviously intended to assist with installing the windshield. Problem is, the rubber trim won't fit around them, or the windshield wiper arms.
Does anyone out there have any experience with this? I really don't want to spend the extra $$ to have it done at a shop right now (rather save it for a new water pump and timing belt). What I thought would be a 2 beer job appears to be more complex. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanx much.

Didn't really find anything on Clarks garage to answer my question. For those of you who own 85 944's, is there a rubber seal under the metal trim on your windshields? Does that seal go around your entire windshield?
