Default CPRacing:SPLITTER FLEX?-90mph-115mph

I promised some video......

Alright guys, this is not the most exciting video, but my road is still relatively flooded (Nor'easter from Thurs/Fri) and I was forced to go to the local highway (we did this with a lead AND trailing vehicle for safety) so I could not "go 200 mph" (sorry Joe ). The speeds are a sustained 90mph with bursts to 115/120mph.
This should give a good idea as to the "flex under load principle", and I'll think you'll be satisfied to see there was none. Also keep in mind the mock-up is THINNER than the final production piece...as it was easier to manipulate for trial fitment.
I'll record/post the 120-145mph version as soon as my road dries out.

Thanks for all the interest and support, and if you have any questions or comments please feel free to post or ask.

***I had to do this through YouTube...couldn't figure out another way....

Nice results and of course it was done on a closed track Does the final production model have the same flex as the mockup one as in rocks and other debris that gets in your way?

I guess in a sense it was a closed track...considering the lead and trailing cars were equipped with nice blue lights on the roof. It's amazing what a nice annual donation to the local Sheriff's office can get you. Moving on....

I increased the size by 1/8" to ensure against HS deformations and as a safeguard of potential wall "loss" during the heatform process. This is an unnecessary precaution, but I felt more comfortable offering more material than what was required.
Even with the thicker material, flexibility is not compromised.

Patrick,
I admire your patience in answering the multitude of questions and challenges. It was clear that the likelihood of the unit flexing at speed was unlikely, yet you endeavored to prove to the doubters that it was sound. All this and you're seemingly giving the product away.

Love your persistence Patrick. Assuming there's not nearly as much demand for the race version what sort of eta on that?

I'd be looking at the race version so long as it's easily affixed and removed. Same goes for this one. I would have to only use them when going to the track. Even with the proven flexibility I wouldn't be able to get up the workshop driveway...and my car seems to love it there so much lol

There is a little more demand for the race version than you would think...37 so far I believe. This in part to staying within the PCA guidelines:

G. Spoilers and bumpers/air dams are free providing they do not exceed maximum factory body width by
any amount, maximum factory body length by more than 1 inch, or maximum spoiler height of the vehicle by more than 6 inches.

The expected release date for this version will be closer to the end of October. I was NOT satisfied with the first sets of the custom made adjustable support arms. They were not made as I specified, so I found another manufacturer who ,hopefully, can properly follow directions/design. He has promised the first shipment of these by Oct. 22.

If it is painted and it gets bent like in the rock test, will the paint crack and fall off
