GT sunroof panel
Has anyone done a write up on thier installof a GT Racing fiberglass sunroof panel? Just wondering what kind of adhesive they used and if they can offer any tips or tricks that made install go smoother. I got the panel for free so I thought I'd spend a little money on customizing it.

Ya, its a Texas thing. I'll be at the NASA race at Eagles Canyon on Oct. 11 & 12
I guess I'm just going to use black silicone to glue it in, then put the clips back on the four corners.
so 95one, I've been wanting to see your car at the track, any chance you'll be there? We need some more racers in the GTS class in Texas.

I dry fitted mine as a firsts step and used shims to get it level with the roof skin. I then masked either side of the joint ie on the sunroof side and the roof skin side. I didn't do my corners well enough and had some bunching. You really want a constant thickness of masking tape all around.
I used 3M windshield adhesive (black). Small continuous bead in the groove of the roof channel.
I then installed the roof panel and made sure that it sat down on the shims and was level and equal gaps all around.
I then filled the groove with the sealer, making sure there was excess. I then squegeed off the excess. Then quickly remove the masking tape before it sets up.
You don't have much time and have to work fast.
I then installed a roof lining, gluing the fabric to the roof and trimming under the side windows and door seals etc.
The heat got to my lining and the fabric is now coming off. However now they have changed the stock rules so I dont need a roof lining anymore so will probably remove it all together.
I have seen others install them dry and use dzus fasteners, so its easy to remove.
