CPRacing: ROCK TEST with PICS
Ok, not sure what happened to the pics on the last thread...but here we go:
Some have requested more pics while we wait on the finished product.
KUHL951 had requested we do a "squirrel test"...well I am a little short on squirrels at the moment, so I decided why not a 65lb. rock?
I mean, after all, if this splitter is so durable, a large rock certainly could not hurt it? Right?
So...with the mock-up still bolted up and a couple shots of Johnnie Walker this is the result:
...is that a rock in my way? What?...no squirrel?

Well I'll guess this will have to do, let's try 20mph....
Attachment 305036
Can you feel it yet?....No?...well drive up on it somemore....
Attachment 305037
How about now?...alright turn your wheels and grind it in....yep, that should do it....
Attachment 305038
Alright, back off and let's see...well,well...no cracks, splits, dings or dents
Attachment 305039
COMING NEXT: ROADKILL vs. CPRacing V1 @ 45MPH...video this time! Stay tuned......

Just to re-cap, what sort of material is this made from? Do you think it will hold up to high speeds without deforming?

Yes it holds up very well. As noted in the the main splitter post, speeds of 125mph were maintianed w/ burst to 145mph with no noticeable deformation. I am trying to secure a video mount to attach to the bumper and capture the splitter in live high speed action.
FYI...I own my own road, so these "high speed" tests are NOT on a public highway or roadway. Relax...

Awesome, please put me in line. Maybe I missed this in another thread, but how far does it hang down from the mounting surface? I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of one painted to match the car
