Black carpet ordered. I hope I made the right decision. The pictures of Greg's interior was a big deciding factor too - I love the way his looks!

When I had the dash recovered, he called it "Cashmere". The champaign looks too yellow, IMO. Beige looks to be a closer match.

I'd still like to see a picture of a black carpet in a two-toned Cashmere interior.
that looks like linen

See post #12 - I made the mistake on the name of the color.

As a side note, I asked about floor mats that World Upholstery offers - $120 for plain front mats. I think a complete set of plain mats were $150. I decided not to order them and will probably try a set of Lloyd's Ultimats (also in black). As expensive as new carpet is, I'm inclined to get front/rear mats along with a hatch mat. It's too bad they don't offer the Porsche crest anymore.

New carpet is here. I'm actually kind of disappointed. The carpet itself is nice, but there's no backer boards, no jute and no instructions. Actually, there is one piece that has a backer board attached - I think it's the piece that goes on the backside of the back seat. When the box arrived, I thought it was my floor mats arriving - that's how light the box was. I'll have to go back and double-check, but I think the receipt said there was a 25% restocking fee if I return it, which I couldn't find on their website and they didn't mention when I ordered.

Ugh.

Yes, from WU. Black Feintuft. The carpet itself is *very* nice. I'm just disappointed in what was included (actually, what was not included) for the price. I checked my invoice - if they will take it back (and I don't think they will since this one had to be made), there's a 20% - 50% restocking fee. I could not find that in their FAQ on their website, and they didn't mention it when I ordered. I've sent them an e-mail with some questions, but it looks like I'm going to be stuck with this carpet.

I'm debating if I'm going to attempt the install myself or if I'm going to take it to one of their recommended installers.

The problem is that linen was an option until the Turbo S in 88. The problem with matching is that the carpet color has changed over 20 yeas from the original factory color. My advice is to get samples and pick what you like. Your carpet looks a lot like what is in my 87.

Sorry to revive an old thread...

I'm trying to refinish my driver seat bolster with "Magic Mender". I bought their Porsche Linen color, but it's WAAAAY too light for my seats (linen looks like off-white compared to my seats). Below are a couple pics of my interior. I'm trying to decide if they are Grey Beige or some other color. Opinions? The carpet is very faded, so don't go by that.

Thanks!

Btw, that's me in the picture with my favorite bunny.

So, nobody has an opinion on my seat color? What, is this supposed to be some sort of technical forum?

Looks grey beige to me, but then again I'm colorblind

I'm changing everything over to Linen. I still can't tell what color my interior is, so I'm just going to switch everything over to match the dash. I'm making progress, but it's been so slow. I took this picture tonight when I got home from work:

Champignon or beige looks close. You can request carpet samples

Did they make champignon seats, or is that just for carpet?

Just to avoid a common confusion, 'champignon' is French for mushroom, not to be confused with 'champagne' which of course is, well, champagne.

The champagne color is what's in my car (see interior pic in sig below) and it's much more orange than linen or grey beige.

So right you are. And to add confusion there are champagne colors available for vinyl and leather in that time period. I went with champignon for a replacement back mat and it was close but after 20 years the original colors had lightened.

Go to the site in the link and look up the vinyl dye, they have lots of colors to choose from. I have never seen a list of seat and carpet colors available in the 944.
