Shifting for speed/power (if thats your goal) should be done at the peak of the torque curve in each gear not at the redline.

No, it should be done at your peak power.

Is it just me or does no one else see a poll?

How would a poll on this topic work?

How many choices would be on the poll?

Aren't the polls usually at the top of the page?

Did they hide the poll somewhere else?

Maybe there is not a poll.

When is poll day?

Where am I?

Oh yes, I do drive my car in the rain.

Somewhere between 6000 and the red ...The needle is moving too fast to be any more precise

Just a note of caution, my tach reads 200-300 rpm low at redline and I have a feeling that others' do as well.

I agree with eniac, I shift by feel.. I've got an 87 automatic ( my first 44 from back in the day) basically it's a parts car for my 87 44S but it actually runs pretty strong. Probably gonna part it out soon, keep the engine ( like I really need another one in my garage) maybe tear it down and do some work to it. I was talkin with Dave Lindsey the other day and was discussing changing one of my NA's(engines) over to a Turbo beast.I'll keep y'all posted .

OMFG, another primary. I thought we were all done with that BS. It's football season and the last thing I want to see is a primary, caucus, or any other political BS taking away important football TV time.

Love that clip with the MSNBC reporter and Newt, what a slam! LMAO

Oh, back to shifting ranges... it's all about power and when you need it. Why run the sh*t out of your car when your just going to get a 6 pack. Wait till there is a reason, at the track or some dumba** rice burner wants to take you on, then it's redline time baby!
