Default Autothority Chips

Whats the deal with Autothority? I got some chips with my car and I contacted them about getting them checked to see if the chips are mapped correctly or getting new chips. No response? Anyone had any bad experiences with the service from Autothority? I'm thinking i'm better off just getting chips from 951Max...

I've had similar issues with them a couple of years ago. Not very responsive at all.

If you are running their MAF you need their chips.

You are better off with 951MAX chips.

Out of frustration with Autothourity, I had Russell make me some chips. They didn't work, even after several tries. He said the AAP stuff is hard to figure out sometimes.
Like I said, if your using AAP's MAF, you may not have luck with another chip brand. I ended up using a Split-Second fuel controller to solve my issues.

Russell tried and is a stand-up guy, but it didn't work in my case.

I have a car running with an Autothority MAF and Vitesse MAF chips and it runs perfectly so if you have their MAF you may want to contact Vitesse if you want new chips.

Thanks for all the responses. My car is stock with the engine management system and AFM. I've heard good things about Russell, so I think I'm going to talk to him.

I asked this question here, and I was told you can't run an Autothority MAF and a different chip. I have to stop believing opinion over facts. So is this true? I guess i should call Vitesse and find out.

You can if the chip tuner knows the calibration of the meter and can program accordingly. The APE unit is an old Pro-m meter. Give Vitesse a call and see what he can do.

As I recall, you were told the the LR/MAX chips wouldn't work with your AA Maf. The person who told you that was using an AA Maf and an LR or MAX chip. He had, what appears to be, a pretty serious miscommunication with either Russell or LR. LR addressed it. I don't know the end result. If you know the specs of the Maf, you can get a MUCH better chip burned for your set up. Again I would use Vitesse, because I do, but the chips from Russell or from LR may work fine as well. I don't know, about those two, from my own experience.
