Go to www.arnnworx.com and look under his project page. He shows how he checked his TPS. Step by step and has pictures as well. Helped me with mine. I pulled it apart and it had oil in it.

I have the tps open in my hand. A tiny bit of oil is on the tiny brushes. a very very small layer of film.

there are two black lines that the little brushes sweep across layerd with oil.. is this what you seen too?

I am wiping the black lines with qtips pulling up oil

Yep, get that all nice and clean inside. Oil in there is due to years of oil vapors from your aos or turbo and also means that your throttle seals probably need replacing. Boosting will exagerate the problem. From the Arnnworx site:

"My buddies on RennList patiently explain to me that when under boost, air pressure is placed all along the intake system and finds a way out via the worn seals. Once past the seals on the passenger side of the throttle body, the oily air goes directly into the TPS."

Great, I am getting her nice and clean...

I have another question,

When I follow the Throttle Body vacuum line, I end up at two large nipple-connectors and one little connector that appears broken and does not connect to any line. The large nipple-connectors are plugged in fine.

my question is,

Is that little one supposed to be connected to anything. Making 3 connections. Or is only 2 line supposed to be connected at that intersection.

I hope I explained that well enough so you know what I mean.. My camera is not with me at the moment.

TY TY!

I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about but I cannot find a picture or remember exaclty what it does. Is it blue?

No it's not blue, Its where the TB vaccum line attaches right under Intake number 3 and 4.

At that connection should there be two lines connected or three?

I took off the TPS and cleaned it really good. No help.

In frusteration I beat it with a wrench... car suddenly revs up great! goes to 2k rpm fine.
Go down the road, bang through some gears.. car perfect!
On my way home, I lose power. ****, same 1600rpm garbage continues.

I just ordered a tps.

also, should I be concerned about how the TPS is positioned on the Throttle body? I noticed I could adjust it's position either left or right.

Thanks guys!
