Finally crushed the Z4!! Boost question..
I got my new turbo installed... Lined up against the z4 3.0SI --255hp-- (last time I limped her home thanks to my TPS) and pulled away...and pulled away... and pulled away from my car's much younger cousin.
I never put my foot to the floor like I did today. I always leaned off the gas at 1 BAR. Today I was doing 4th gear pulls from 45mph and my boost gauge on the dash was reading just over 1.5 BAR. The car wanted more boost but I kept letting off around 1.6-1.7 BAR.
I will keep her at about 1BAR from now on..... Feels good to better the Z4.
Is this a sign my wastegate is not opening?
I am looking forward to making a screamer of a new LR dual port wastegate.

Special Tool,
I have an autometer gauge also and it was reading high. way over 10-12lb area. I was driving around a long sweeping corner so I couldent get an exact read. I'll do some testing tomorrow and see where she ends up.. just excited I beat the bmw.

10-12 PSI, like John said, is nothing to worry about. I run 16 all day no problem (with a good tune).

ahh hahaha. Okay, I did a few 'foot to the floor' 4th gear pulls. I reached 12-13 pounds. Seeing that BAR meter hit 1.6 scared me yesterday. I said "great 20 pounds... there goes my engine."

Yeah, if you're running a seperate boost gauge then don't even bother looking at the stocker. It'll always give you the atmoshperic pressure. Notice that if you turn the key on but don't start the engine, it'll go to 1.
