Lindsey Racing fuel lines
I bought a set of Lindsey racing fuel lines without realizing I needed cut the stock hard lines to mount the fuel lines. They use compression fittings, which don't make feel too comfortable. Has anyone used these lines and what was your impression of them? Also, any recommendations on where to cut the hard lines?
Thanks.

I have them and haven't had any problems with them at all. I relocated the hard-SS junction down into the passenger fenderwell. The compression fittings won't leak so you really don't have to worry. The only concern some have had was the fitting to the FPR. It is a low pressure connection so it will be fine but some have gone different routes with it.

I've had these lines for 4 years now and they work great. It's actually a plus to be able to relocate the connection to the hardline into the wheel well. Just make sure that only the front of the car is elevated when you cut the hardlines.

I've been using the LR lines for a while now-there are no leaks but there is always a faint smell of gas near the SS lines.
Is this normal? I opened up the plastic wheel well shield and checked the fittings and they are tight.

Cutting the lines is fine and as the others have said cutting back to the wheel well can actually be safer. I have both of my cars configured like this and have had zero issues. The link to my 87 944 track car build in my sig has pictures of the process.

No issues here. They even include a mini pipe cutter that works great. Was a fairly quick upgrade. I did stagger the connections inside the wheel well so that the fittings wouldn't be right next to each other; made it easier to secure and tighten them as well. I also get a faint fuel smell from the return line at the rail but it dosen't leak at all so I think it is a non issue. DE'd all weekend and no problems...

If you have a better, safer, more secure way to connet to a steel line, let us know.
