Default 951 custom speaker box...woohoo!

Fabbed, painted, carpeted and getting the finishing touces (decals) before speaker installation and vehicle insertion. Box is custom exact fit for the 951 leaving plenty of room in the rear for golf clubs, kegs, bales or dead bodies and the like...Fits 2-12" subs. I'll update once in the auto.

....and the decals are not crooked they follow the contour of the enclosure!

RF-600/2 mono @ 2-ohm, it was the largest I could fit in the sparetire-well along with the other amps.

Where exactly will it sit? at the seat top pivot point or atop the seat backs themselves? How will it be secured? Where will you run the wiring?

I wouldn't mind making a removable box of some sort but all the wiring and crap really turns me away.

The rear carpeted portion is @ 22 degree slant so as to slide tight to the rear seats...They need to have the additional vertical airspace to fire properly. It can be attached via black "L" brackets to the rear floor OR fenderwell. I am actually going to install flat "U" slides on the bottom side of the box. All wiring is concealed under the rear carpet...I fabbed some custom amp racks that are where the spare tire used to be to make everything look clean...all you see is the box+woofers

Yes please! Ive had 8s and 10s in most every car Ive owned so I think 12s are overkill (since Im mostly listening to rock and metal) ... I have a good idea on how I want the subs and amp mounted but its the door and rear speakers Im still trying to figure out, anyone with half a brain knows the stock speaker sizes are lame and will never sound good, needs to be AT LEAST 5.25s ...

There arent many quality installs in these cars so please share as much as you can!

I fabbed panels for the front doors to fit 6.5" Infinity's w/ 2-1" dome tweets. Wasn't hard...You can fit the same 6.5" in the rear speaker well, just make a spacer, and it stays hidden. Trust me...try the 12's, no matter what music you listen to, they bring so much more punch and clarity to the table. Thanks for the comments

Wow, very nice work. How about some pictures and description of the fab work?

I'm guessing a hatch reseal will be your next project.

the JL's that are in there now made the hatch re-seal already happen...plus having to rubber grommet/washer every piece of hardware that was metal on metal, time consuming but no rattles...anywhere

Hey cpr,
Are the 6.5's amplified? I have the same speakers and they arent that powerful with just the HU. I am considering amping them because i have one channel left on my amp.

everything is amplified!! what is your current config on the amp? the reason I ask is that you will need 2channels to properly stereo the speakers...or add a smaller 2 channel and mono bridge your jl (s?).
