DTA offers great products. I have used them 9-10years ago, they are much better now. If I have the need for a standalone, DTA will be on top of my list.
As with any standalone, you will need a engine harness and additional sensors. I recommend you base your decision not based on the hardware alone, but also on who can support you. You can have the best engine management hardware/software, if it is not installed and tuned properly, it will not work.
edit: more info. Contact A.Wayne on this board. He'll be able to assist you with anything that has DTA on it. I haven't tried the S series yet, wayne is the man when it comes to DTA.

Yes I used to run a DTA E48Exp. Very basic system, but worked very good along with a new harnss I made. But the S60 is a much nicer unit! HansB is running the S60 on his racer.
I really like the DTA systems, but I however decided to upgrade to the Link Plus G3 recently.

Duke, thats good news. The G4 is now out and the G3 is going to be able to run its software. Its a great upgrade. It includes auto tune by a/f. You plug in the a/f you want and it writes the main fuel table. It saves a bunch of dyno time for part throttle. The latest g3 update includes factory Porsche triggers and low oil pressure indication.

I saw a motor tuned both timing and fuel in about 1/2 hour, It was on an engine dyno. I haven't used it yet in my car so, I can't comment but the people that have used it said it works great. I have a G3 in my car and I'm waiting for the software upgrade to try it out. I will get the G4 when it hits the states.

In regards to Auto tune by A/f , that feature is is nothing new to standalone systems. Auto tune has been around for almost a decade , becoming more widespread about 5 yrs ago as wideband Lambda systems became more affordable.......

No BUT Link has 2 G4 models, one with knock control built in and one that has the 0-5v in so you can add the Knock block or Knock blink. Both can be plugged in to sense knock. A base timing MAP is giving but it should be tuned on a load dyno.

Can I cross boost control between gear AND load????
