Default Will a bigger wastegate lower backpressure in the crossover pipe?

I wasnt sure, but I was wondering if installing a bigger wastegate would help lower backpressure in the crossover pipe. Like a 50mm wastegate.

Or would there be other issues like rapidly losing boost...

If it works, it would probably help those that still have a #6 hotside.

No because regardless of waste gate size it is only going to let out so much exhaust to regulate boost, if it lets out to much boost will go down. The hotside is your problem.

Er, any wastegate lowers backpressure. Thats what they do. But they only do that when theyre open, when theyre closed youre going to have the pressure regardless of what size wastegate.

No, this is the wrong perspective.

A high quality datalogger will show how the serrations of wastegate's valve cycle increase as RPM's do. The wastegate operates very fast at max boost.

By decreasing backpressure with wastegate, you will necessitate lower boost.

A larger wastegate is necessary when max desired boost has been achieved, yet boost continues to "creep" upward.
