Is the chip the only difference between a Turbo KLR box (951.618.113.02) and one for a Turbo-S (951.618.113.09)???

In other words, can I make a Turbo-S box from a non-S one simply by adding a TS chip??? I've had different answers all from Techs I trust(ed)...

The KLR box will make no difference, just the chip between the S and non-S.

Bringing up an old thread but I have an 86 KLR and an 89 KLR. I dont believe the 86 KLR has the tube for the boost input but the 89 one does. Can I still use the 86 KLR with an 89 chip and have it work?

The 86 KLR will have the connection for the boost line, just like the 89.
