I've had that happened on my my car a few times. Off the intercooler, off the MAF, of the throttle
body. All very scary, I guess the rubber intake parts on the 928 are not use to 15+ psi of boost
either .

15psi.
+1 for new silicon hoses to solve the problem. My next step is t-clamps-it's cheap here, about US$4 each for 2-3 inch diameter ones.

Darwin, why are you taking people out for joy rides when you have the '88 Fox waiting in the shadows? I mean, don't you really want to blow people away?

Meh...I really don't want to blow their minds...I just want to play with them a little That's what the 951 is good for after all...a "taste" of speed.

Same thing happened to me while overtaking a truck on the highway in 5th gear. Heard a loud "POP", the engine began to run like a bag of nails so I chose to turn it off and I found myself with no steering/brake assistance entering a one mile 10% downhill section with two interesting big curves
After getting through I stopped on the hard shoulder and retightened the duct hose linking the IC to the intake with a €0.05 coin.
My recurring insolent luck seemed to be with me that day as it was a summer sunday evening in August (just about everything is closed here at this time of year) yet I found an open hardware store 100m after the exit. There is now a nice set of screwdrivers permanently sitting below the passenger's seat.

I had that happen at Pocono a few weeks ago (mine was the intercooler pipe to the throttle body). I had recently replaced all those rubber boots - and being soft new rubber, when it heated up, it was able to flex enough to slide off - even with that hose clamp pretty tight.
And I'm running stock boost - 0.75 bar.

I used to have this happen so often, when I hear that sound I know it instantly. Anything over 23psi would instanly pop of even the new rubber hoses I had. I bought better clamps but then I had a IC couple hose rip followed my the turbo to IC hose.
The problem went away completely when I switched to all silicone connectors.

First time that happened with me, i thought the engine was toast...
Second time, i was not sure if it was the engine or the IC connection...
Third time onwards, i just swore everytime it happens...
