Default Racer's Edge caster blocks really work as advertised?

Just wondering if the monoball caster blocks are worth the price or are the 968 style good enough?

Only for a dedicated track car, and really only a benefit if you are driving competitively.

The spherical bushings/bearings significantly deteriorate ride quality on the street.

I have run them on several cars. Along with the full assortment of Racers Edge spherical bearings both front and rear (3 cars now).

In my opinion, the ride really suffers very little from the bushings alone compared to stiffer spring/shocks.

If you do a full spherical bearing install (the full package from Racers Edge) you definitely will notice a difference in the response and feel of the car both on and off the track.

Will they make the biggest difference on the track vs the street? No.

It's just that the track differences are measurable by lap times where the street use is measured by the non-scientific seat-of-the-pants feel.

Well when I installed my KW I decided to go for the RE top mounts as well. Almost everyone I talked to previous to the install said the top mounts would significantly deteriorate the ride on street and they advised against it. I decided to press on anyway and the result is that the ride quality overall has improved over stock while the handling has been transformed. So if that is anything to go by then i'd guess the castor blocks will be similar in that the ride deterioration on street will not be an issue.

Just prior to the KW install I swapped over to the 968 castor bushes and again noticed no deterioration in ride quality. I fancy installing one of those castor mount braces so will probably swap over to solid castor bushes when I get round to that.

As Oddjob states. Its only worth it for a dedicated track car. Solid bushings give better feedback, and help with transitions when pushing hard at the track. The feel is better so gives greater confidence hence you can push harder. Waste of time for a street car (IMO) and makes for a harsh ride.

Solid bearings do not like long term road grime/contamination.
The ride is not that bad but they will wear/seize up from lack of maintenace (real track cars get gone over befoer each outing!)
