I started with a 944 and rear seat delete kit from Appbiz.
Some modifications were required to get the fit I was looking for but otherwise very nice.
This was a black felt kit but other materials/colors are available mostly in the blacks and greys though.
The 944 sets may not be on their web page yet but same materials available as the 911 kits, give them a call.

You do need to call and order, you can specify standard replacement carpet set, or the Perlon felt (aka 'RS' style) carpet. I believe he stocks the Perlon in dark gray, the black like you & I have takes an extra few days to manufacture.
The RS kit is complete and weighs very little (much less than the factory pieces) due to the lack of padding. The carpet includes formed wood pieces for the trunk hatch carpet that rests over the cubby holes. They slide into stitched pockets so you can remove them for reduced weight. Pretty slick.
The supplied pieces do outnumber the factory carpet pieces (not a one-for-one swap), and there are no instructions, so it took some headscratching and pre-fitment placement to put everything together. The passenger-side trunk where the filler neck intrudes is particularly fun.

About $280 + shipping for the standard set. The OPs was likely more as he has a custom rear seat-delete carpet set.
Appbiz offers the gray Perlon kit on ebay for that price.

Great looking carpet kit.
is that bolt in cage legal in any racing leagues; SCCA / NASA?
Just wondering because i'm in the market for one. The trailing arms are bolted to what? That doesn't look legal for anything.
Sorry for being off topic.

That's a nice looking kit for the price. Can you keep us updated on it's wear characterisics. ie: does it start to get fuzzy in the higher wear areas like the drives foot well without mats or the front of the drives side door sill that I always manage to kick while getting in the car (I have race seats).
Redline Rennsport makes the harness/roll bar. I have one of them installed as well. It attaches with four bolts, all of which have existing holes and capture nuts in the 944 chassis.

Wow, thanks for all the kind words.
Without a doubt, this board has been the inspiration behind my projects so a big thumbs up each of you.
When I ordered the kit last fall, Appbiz was carrying three different materials, a standard replacement carpet, the perlon felt and a more standard felt, which is what I have.
As far as wear goes, the kit comes with a rubberized material at the wear points on the drivers side but these were some of the pieces I modified so I will be installing a small thin floor mat for my heals on the drivers side floor board.
As mentioned the bar is from Redline, powder coated in white.
Weights from the project, per bathroom scale:
•OEM Rear Seat Bottom---4#
•OEM Rear Seat Back---18#
•OEM Carpet Set w/Rear Seat Belts---30#
(the only sound dampening material I pulled was the hatch mat and a 10"x36" rubber mat that was glued to the rear deck)
•OEM Spare Tire---32#
•Felt Carpet Kit w/press board supports over rear wheel well area and spare tire cubby---14#
(that's a 70# reduction, not bad)
The kit was sourced completly from Appbiz, but I will say that I did quite a bit of custom work with spare material I had ordered. I started out working with Appbiz but being a few thousand miles apart made it difficult and as spring arrived I grew impatient so I finished a dozen or so pieces myself. I found a person locally that could sew up the edge banding for me so I was able to trim and re-cut a hand full of pieces for an exact fit.
In hindsight, I wish I had made patterns for each of the pieces to share but the project was dragging and I was anxtious to finish up.
If anyone is doing a similar project and has a specific question, shoot me a PM as I have alot of pictures from throughtout the project and I'll help out the best I can.
Thanks again.

I keep the Renn up but work has kept me going round and round so not as much time for the list. I have to resist using the search shark...I feel like I am taking crazy pills, same posts new crew. Just spinning wheels not much foward progress, all our pioneers have been there done that and sold the t-shirt....

Very nice indeed. Of course, I wonder how well their carpet kit will fit out of the box without all the modifications. I need a new carpet soon and have been looking at different options. I really don't want to spend $600+ if I don't have to.
