You think LINDSEY invented a poppet/spring boost controller??
And Pauer fuel lines were started by Jeremy.
Mid sleeves are a product offered for public sale.
THIS is why they get away with this in the 944 community.
Some of you kids are pretty stupid.
Lindsey is a retailer who copies EVERYTHING.
I don't think they would even argue -that's the way their momma raised them.
Maybe some day, in the future, they will grow into men, and **** for themselves.

None. Just different installers.

So who was the first 944/951 vendor/after market, etc.? I'm curious to know.
I remember Powerhaus was at the forefront back in the day, but not sure who was actually first.
Was is Milledge the first?

Good luck to all of them, they are all doing an excellent job!
Lets face it, if someone copies a design and makes it better, then good for them. We, the buyers, are the ones who benefit and we shall always buy the better product thanks to information on forums like this. As long as they keep thinking of new products and improving on existing ones, why should anyone here have a problem with that. The only people that would have a problem are the inventors/manufacturers, so let them fight it out between themselves.
There is no need for us to take sides, we are not involved in the battle.

Patents are always a great idea after the fact as up front legal costs and PTO processing costs for patents/trademarks/copyrights can be tens of thousands.

+1 Not only do you have to put a bunch of money up front for a patent, you also have to spend a bunch more to fight a patent infringement. It really isn't worth the effort for a small business to do this.

They have no investment in any of these products and services they have copied nor do they have any tooling investment in their shop. They have no risk here, other than paying somelse to copy the parts for them.
I have said my piece, and now its up to those that have integrity to do the right thing here. Those looking for cheap knock off's you know where to send your checks.
/
No risk, sounds like good business plan to me.
"Cheap Knock offs"?, well you started this thread bashing them for copying someone elses product, when they are CLEARLY selling someone elses product that already existed as competition. They did not screw over the company that designed and manufctured the part they are selling.
Secondly the parts that they do sell that are the same as another manufacturer are that "the same", which makes them a little hard to be cheap knock offs. I already went over why they do this, they gave some one a chance to suply them, they filed to do this and instead of loseign sales had them mde for them.
LR has also devoloped, or paid to have developed many of thier own products.
Threads like this make me realy happy to coninue to buy from LR, I have always been happy with thier products and find them to be very ethical. Aperently you do not find competition to be ethical, I find it creates better prices and better products.

But what I can't wait for is when Lindsey does attempt to make a deck plate, that should be hysterical. There have been many others attempt and fail on that, except CEP.
I'm just sorry to those that bit the dust, RKD for example, and the early batch of motors (5) Lindsey 'built' with the wrong tolerances and blew on startup (minus the few that weren't started, but had to be sent back after they caught the problem), etc. I'm not sure how much Lindsey charged for their 'Expert, only we can do it right' motors that blew, but I don't think it's disposable coin. Not to mention all the labor installing/removing/diagnosing/etc when a motor goes.
If you have any common sense, you value your dollar and the vendor's experience/ingenuity, you know what to do from here.

How mature. This is the reason that I don't want to buy from them. After the whole RKD ordeal, they've proven that they don't know what's really going on. The 944 world is plagued by insanely expensive products that God only knows who can afford. I think the mentality about these cars is what leads to retailers being able to charge what they do for parts.
