does anyone make a 3" downpipe that braces to the engine via a mounting bracket like the stock downpipe?

tim, would you be interested in designing something like that?

Geez, I feel like Obama at a KKK meeting. I've been outed. LOL
Just to clarify, and I will post more on the builds that are going on at a later date, but this was designed for a high tq / hp motor that is getting built at the moment. I will try it on the 3L with a GT3582 Tial hybrid for the moment and that's why it has a removable center section for road driving w CAT. As it is shown in the pics it has a V-band at one end and a slip fit at the other with the straight through 4". There will be some all new larger headers going into this also. I can't use Tims Stage 2s as the RHD steering shaft gets in the way. Don't worry I tried. This car is due to go back together in the next 2 weeks with the LINK G3+ ems system and gentlemen, I will find one of those Dyno Dynamics to put all these comparisons to bed finally!
Thanks to Tim for putting together such an impressive beast. Hope all the other parts live up to it!

i was looking over the stock design, and i think it helps to brace the turbo. plus if you get rear-ended (i've been rear-ended three times, seattle drivers suck) or back into something and the exhaust is hit, i'd think it would help save the turbo from damage.

It is just a pain in the *** to do and will add more to the cost so it is probably something we wont incorporate into the design. But I can do a custom one off peice for you if you got some $$$$$$

tim, i might take you up on that. how much are we talking about for a 3" stainless? would v-band or stock flange affect price at all? i'm already planning my next turbo upgrade if the tial performs as advertised.

I just changed how mine will be I will have 2 mufflers under the car and discarge the pipe at the axle in the rear ground effect defuser (as banned from F1)i will loose a few kg of exhuast and keep the wieght low to the ground i dont think there is much benifit of the last step up to 5" but the only down side is maybe noise. if its fits in there it's not too big but i would also be interested in how it sounds

Just remember, you don't have a 200mph F1 car. You have a car that will be stuck in traffic and the exhaust will be filling your interior as you sit idle.. I'd re think that. The pre mufflers are good but not dumping it under the car.

well i would hope that the big hollow rear defuser will be fine at even slow speeds if not a detatchable rear pipe is the answer .
