Even assuming that this is going onto a car with 400whp which hardly anyone has. This is overkill for sure.

I've seen more meat on a neck bone.

That thing is huge.

I do like the oval pipe.

Does the fact that it starts only 3" means that the 5" is irrelevant as the 'bottle neck' is there? Or is there still benefit (however diminished)

If it starts at 3" and only ever get's bigger then there's no bottleneck.

but does that not also imply that the 3" as it is before the 4 and 5" offers more resistance at the source of the exit gas therefore redundating the rest of the system? Why not just have all the system 3" (my logic is the 3" is the critical path with)

PLease help me understand

Patrick,

You are the overkill king. Only Australia has no 400WHP 951's.

No, your not taking into account the pressure build up that can occur as a result of the pipe length.
Dr Morrison designed and built a testing apparatus and completed some very detailed analysis of this phenomenon. The results of his analysis can be found in Scientific Design of Exhaust & Intake Systems published by Bentley.

ah guess it makes sense. like blowing down a short tube vs a long one. Greater distance cause turbulance and therefore more resistance

If you want ST, I'll have it shipped to you so you can do a worthwhile test for it.
