Ok, here is (my) your hypothetical question:

Your wife of 17 years is approaching her 50th birthday (she doesn't look 40), and you want to buy her a new toy, as her old Mustang that was the first car she bought for herself, well, everyone's just tired of it. So, the choice, you (I) have it narrowed down to are in the poll, but if you have a solid reason, please speak up. TIA, BTW, budget is not over $25k, and she has enough sparkly things for now. Just a toy for the weekends or sunny summer days, she's a drop top babe.

Boxster- nice little sporty car, two trunks! Women love that. Only reason not to do that would be no back seat but the other two dont have much as far as that goes either. Although the C2 is a nice car..kindof a toss up.

Bret, to be honest with you, I wouldn't buy any of those cars for my wife of 25 years. With the amount of unlicensed ilegals, dumb people and drunks outthere. I want my wife in something much secure than a little car, maybe a MB 450, Lexus Ex, BMW X5, something that will be a bit higher than a sport car, but if you must choose out of those 3 the 968 seems to be more sturdy than the other 2.

It will just be a sunny weekend, more of a summer car, not her daily transport; she has a C320 wagon for that and will be getting a new one of those when the 09 wagons hit. This will just be her toy, stay stock all the way, I am to repeat every day, "I will not modify, I will not modify - well, unless asked to do so."

Love the new avatar lart!!
Brett, interesting that you state her age and her comparative looks ie not 40. Just so nobody suggest a visit to Palm Springs for a tune up. lol
So having established that she's a babe, I'd go for the newer car. What about a Cayman or are they still too expensive? You guys pay half what we do so maybe one of the earlier ones could be down near $25K?

if you dont want to go over $25k then I would say Boxster S. You can get a nice example of one and they are very comfurtable for women (and men).It also will be "newer" so she will want to drive it more. My girlfriend love riding in my car but would never drive it everyday. However IF I gave her a boxster she wouldnt want to be in any other car. Plus they handle so well that you could have fun in it too.

Plus any C2 for under $25k may not be up to quality par. that price range will get you a very nice boxster and a ok C2.

buy her a manual no its not for you to drive write a nice card that says "you believe in her " she can do anything .
Also it's more about what she likes perhaps you should ask her friends insted of yours and maybe just get what comes up in the colar she likes
