They would probably be noisy on a street car.

Composites is part of my profession and I foresee making a carbon door panel to be a real bitch. You could reduce noise quite a bit by introducing foam between the door and the panel, and by making sure it bolted down in quite a few places. But the real trick would be to make it look right.

Easiest way to do this would be to simple lay up on top of an old, junker panel. Then again, you'd have to deal with the handle (which can be solved relatively easily).

If you want to go prepreg carbon, you'll be paying a huge amount for something that's just not really all that necessary. Only real advantage is that you'll be doing less sanding at the end.

Search user name "Ski" on here for pictures of his doors. He made some aluminum inner door panels that look nice. Might be an option for you.

If it is for DE, why don't you neatly cut out all the trimmings of the inner door and go with an "empty" door? That is what most racers do here.

for DE can I just remove the door cards and leave the interior of the door naked? There are a few edges and I do not know whether tech would have any issues?

can't find one of my old pics. Just used the upper portion of the stock door and cut out a flat "expensive" piece o carbon fiber.
