I have a stock exhaust that is in good shape I could sell you. I dont know what the going rate is but i'm open to suggestions

it sounds like you dont want to do the work to fix the current car and with a 12k budget you should be find plenty of clean 951s. you could get 4-5k at least for the current car from someone looking for a track car project who does not car about the ac compressor.

Sounds like one of two things. Repair nightmare (I'd know that one pretty well) or an excellent track candidate (start your stripping).

I'd go with that latter of the two and invest in another 951 for DD'ing

i am just sad about the car... i bought it and the next day i needed to put in a new clutch and then finding the side of the block being bad. now having exhaust leaks and vacuum leaks and then the fuel pump dieing. i am just really frustrated with the car. but a friend talked me into just dropping a new engine in it that has the manifold and xover. so that should solve most of my exhaust leaks. so i am keeping my fingers crossed that the car will make it until the engine swap.

I know the feeling, my car had many undisclosed problems when I bought it, and some have still yet to be sorted out. Keep at it, and you will have something nice to show for your efforts.

i hope so. my main problem is that is is my DD and when the problems come up it is usually on a saturday or sunday and the fastest i can get parts is monday and that is with paying an outrageous amonut on shipping. but after the new engine alot of problems should go away.

your car looks awesome. Hopefully when mine is "finished" it will look that good.

It's always gonna take more $ to fix a problematic car than to buy a nice example in the first place. And then often you'll never get it right anyway.

A couple of sayings:
1/ The first loss is the best loss,
2/ Never use good money to chase after bad.

Translation: talk it up to a learning experience; part it out and buy another one. It would be a clear cut decision if it was me.
