Default Boost surging issue

I have been noticing some surging while at 3/4 - full throttle under boost as of late. I had been driving with the TPS unplugged because it crapped out right after resealing the T/B and there were no surge issues with it unplugged. I finaly replaced the TPS, set it up so it clicks just as you open the T/B.

I know I have a slight gasket leak at the wastegate as I noticed a small dark spot in the garage floor after running it for a few minutes b4 driving. Even with this slight leak, when the TPS was unplugged, it did not surge. With the new one in and adjusted properly, it does. The boost gauge seems to stay steady while under boost, but I guess that doesn't mean I'm not still losing it. Any help would be great! Thanks in advance.

OK, I decided to dive into this thing today since the shop was kinda slow. I removed the intake to clean up my vacuum line routing, remove the EVAP stuff, and install the Accuboost I've been sitting on.

I eliminated the CV, and took the pipe that runs the vac. line and AOS stuff off, cut off the stuff I no longer needed, and plugged the holes in the j-boot from the EVAP and CV lines that are no longer there.

My boost surge is gone, and I believe it was from the wastegate hose to the CV that was leaking as it did not seem to be a very snug fit as I popped it off. Now with the Accuboost, the car is quite responsive, and I am enjoying not having the surge anymore.

I have the Accuboost turned almost all the way out, as the first time I had it adjusted, I hit 2 bar very quickly and backed off the throttle. Now I am guessing to be around 1.8 or so, and the car still feels very good. I just wanted to close this out I guess, and make sure I have the Accuboost set up correctly. Am I going to have to be carefull on cold mornings with the denser air??

do you have stock chips? you'll be hitting that "wall" of boost cut quickly if so.

LOL never thought of that! Duh. Someone post a pic of how it's supposed to be? Or explain. Should the **** be pointed at the wastegaste line or the other way?

That's the way I have it. Thanks for the link.

Dan, I'm not sure if I have stock chips or not. It's always ran rich so the PO may have had Autothority chips put in or something, I have not had the DME etc. apart to look yet. I was suprised, even though the stock gauge is not accurate, that the overboost did not kick in when I nearly hit 2 bar. This would make me think that the chips are not stock. But who knows. Thanks for the help.

Stock W/G no CV. And by "almost all the way out" I mean, "I didnt expect it to be out this far." I drove it to work this morning 30 miles and it feels great. Very smooth, no cutting out or surging, and not going into overboost. I'll leave it for now until I get my WBO2, boost gauge, and Tial installed.

It spools so damn quickly when I get on it, I'm used to it taking a while to get to full boost. Now I'm kinda afraid to to mash it for very long.
