Default 330 HP with AFM?

Has anyone made more than 330-340hp at the crank with the stock AFM?

I'm pretty sure I exceeded that by a decent margin. No dyno proof. just a gtech and a weight of 2500 (with driver) and a 1/4 mile mph of 123. calculator says about 360.

I dont mean to sound sour, but it doesn't sound like that big of a challenge. 15% driveline loss at 330 crank horse nets 280 rwhp, and 15% is probably generous. If you meant chipping and turning up the boost on a bone stock 86-88 non S turbo, then it would be pretty hard.
Per your question, IF the only stipulation is stock AFM then an 89 S with 3" exhaust, wastegate, and chips could probably get to 330 CRANK hp with little trouble. LR sells a 270RWHP out of the box for the S cars. I would think pushing past that threshold might start to get tricky

I just have never seen a dyno of it.

So what are pros/cons to blow through vs. suck through?

A trap speed of 123 with 2500 LBS car is at a timed strip is better than any dyno.

Seems like it. Shawn Morrison has a 968 turbo RS replica with an AFM and he made 400rwhp at 16psi.

Only that's a 3.0 liter. I think Todd was referring to our 951s' little 2.5 liter.

True
I think he wants to know the AFM's limitation so with enough airflow (3.0 liter, bigger turbo), you can get 400rwhp with the same AFM.

Not for this discussion it isn't. Your above is an example of power to weight ratios, driver launch abilities, etc. etc. etc.

I simply want to know if a 951 engine with stock AFM was able to produce more than 330hp.

Correct, 2.5L.

That example you mention would be interesting to do with AFM and then swap in MAF and see the direct results of the increased CFM of the MAF vs. the AFM. Just to see how much the stock AFM was choking out the flow.

That's where you are wrong, my friend.
Trap speed is indicative of STRICTLY hp, practically speaking.

Before learning to tune and having more brain cells, I did 282 rwhp but it was so rich with the old Kokeln chips that I could not get rid of the black smoke. If I could have cleaned it up, I feel confident it would have a bit more; 18psi.
