Hi everyone:
My electric pump started making a loud humming sound after shut down, intermitently. Now I started hearing the pump noise while driving. Do I need to replace a switch as well or some temperature sensor? Also wondered how difficult this to remove and replace?
Thanks in advance for any help in diagnosing and repair.

There is a relay that controls the pump. Pull it out and put it back in to see if this changes anything, or try swapping it with a known good one from another car.
If you decide to replace the pump, this is pretty well explained in the factory manuals. You will need 3 hose pinchers. I got mine from SnapOn.

my pump started making this noise when the motor and pump started to separate slightly. You could push on the motor and it would quiet down or get louder. I recrimped it together but eventually it started leaking again. If the pump is turning on/ shutting off on its own i would say that the sensor is fine. If you need a new pump motor i have one that is only a year or two old and probl only has less than 6k on it.

If the noise is coming from the pump, it could be a sign of a small water leak and it will get worse.
If you replace it, don't forget to get new water hoses that connect to the pump. It is a pain to get to the back hose that connects to the Turbo, very hard to see the clamps and even harder to get a scredriver on them. Helps if it is on a lift.
Whats the story on Dr Woopie? The wellness center is in SC and your sig is from Fl.

They look like this:

http://www.944online.com/cgi-bin/ASI...skukey_1000414
You can get the complete water hose set for a little over $100 if you look around. The pump cost way too much but what can you do.

Yep, that's it. But they're also available new for around half the price of the Porsche pump.
Be warned that some people have had leaks with theirs, but at that price it's definitely worth a shot.
