I don't think 1900 is supposed to mean the total number of CS, TS, TRS, etc. If Porsche were trying to make a run of street versions of a race car, then they would all have to be the same configuration as the race car. I.e. if the race car were turbo, then all the CSs and Sports wouldn't count.
A 996tt vs a 968ts is a tough choice for me, in dream land. In real life, where I need to work on my own car, I pick the 968ts.

They made 1900 968CS and it is the model that has done the most racing, over here they sell for almost twice the price of a 'normal' 968, because they are so popular for competion.
