You do realize the helper spring is supposed to go above the lower collar right up against the main spring right?
That would make much more sense than the way I've got it set up to move the lower collar up and down, huh.

Chalk yet another one up for stupid noob mistake.
I had figured they went there and pushed the entire lower collar assembly up (which they currently do as it is incorrectly setup), but it definitely doesn't work as well as the official way. The rubber gaurd around the strut gets in the way of the threaded collar sliding up all the way.
*edit* Now I really feel like an idiot because now I know why everyone else cuts so much more of the stock spring cup off. I had left that larger amount on so that the helper springs would fit on there.

Thanks, no I took it to a local plating and polishing shop. I have done some polishing using my bench grinder (IC pipes in my avatar), but the intake would have taken me forever to do myself.
