Everything is included with the engine, computer, headers, intake, etc etc... He was trying to sell it for 3600 but I offered 800 as joke and he said the first 2k takes it. I have yet to find one for less.

Thanks for the info... I might be messaging you after I get the engine if I have any questions.

If you can, I'd hold out for an '01-'02 F-body LS1. The '98 has a clearance issue with the driver's side valve cover. The '02 has the LS6 intake, upgraded injectors, and is very underated to protect the Vette.

Also, you should be able to do a Carfax on the VIN off the motor.

But for 2k wouldnt it just be easier to buy a ls6 intake and upgrade the injectors?? I have heard of the valve covers being a issue but it does has an easy fix from what I have read (cant remember what the fix is off the top of my head)

Sure. You want to make sure he's including the alternator, starter, pwr steering pump, A/C comp, flywheel, pressure plate, and PCM.

You won't need his intake, and depending on the type of headers he has, you won't be using them either. Let me know if you need help. Travis

ya I might need some help if I end up getting the engine this weekend. I just replaced the head gasket on my 944 so Im not sure when I would take the 2.5 engine out. I might end up just looking for a a 944 with a blown engine for cheap.

Okay, just don't feel pressured to buy that motor if you're not ready. Those deals come around often. Make sure you start with the nicest car you can find, and one that you'll be happy with for a long time. You will LOVE it when it's done and you don't want to regret skimping in that area.

DVC is right. These engines come up for sale all the time. There's a ton of them out there.

I think we got the 2001 LS1 in my car for about $3800 with 19k miles, with harness and brain, the complete accessory drive, etc... It was a little more, but worth it.

Now I'm on the fence.... upgrade this engine, force induct it, or do a L92 setup...

The punishment never ends!

>>>3-4mpg ?? lol<<<

On the track, more like 5-6mpg.

On the freeway at 75mph, expect around 22mpg+ (that's what I get).

Yes, 22mpg mixed city/highway.

What's your air temp there, Tony? I finally got a chance to drive my car in the 40's and....... These things love the cold air. Are you running a 160* t-stat?
