Default Who has filled in/glassed the side markers?

Who has done this? I thought Doc did it to his red car, but I'm not sure. I'd like to fill in the front and rear side markers. Any good ideas or experiences?

Thanks. and I'll pay the invoice you just sent me this evening.

I'm hoping someone with experience might chime in to give me an idea how they did it, materials etc. I haven't ever really done any body work so I'm a total newb on this project.
I'll search those names. Thanks again.

I did it on my car, I just finished assembling it so no pic's yet. I took the factory side marker assembly and cut the lens off of it. Took the lens and put it in the hole in bumpercover having masking tape hold it in place from the outside, covering the whole area. I then used fiberglass mat and resin to cover the area from the inside, let it dry good, then grind the outside. Next I used good quality bodyfiller (Rage Gold) and filled the outside making sure the area was completely covered, then just sanded it into right shape and primed (PPG K 36), sanded again and epoxy primed the whole bumpercover.
The rear was easier as all I did is cut a steel plate in shape of the marker and welded it in and then bodyworked the area just like the front.

huh...very cool. Now I need to get a new right side assembly. I was thinking of cutting a stiff piece of screen, like from a window, then using epoxy to secure it from the inside. Then when that's done I'll glass the inside and fill the outside.
Ya think that would work?

Nor any other RoW versions, for that matter.

Only North American spec cars had side markers.

Please excuse going OT, but actually, no. You're off by a whopping 40%.

That is, 55% of total 951 production were built for North America (14,126 cars). The other 45% (11,508 cars) were RoW and special edition cars.

It is true that N. America was the largest single market, but then again that's true for all Porsche models, not just the 951.

PM Rich Sandor for info on filling. Last time I saw his car, I noticed that it has them filled, but I'm not sure if he did it.

I love my ROW car...

I did the front bumper on my car, but have not done the rears yet. For the rears, I painted body color to match for now. When I paint the car, those will be welded shut properly.

It has been a few years, but I used a fiberglass bondo with a screen backing. It took quite a bit of glazing and sanding before the pits all disappeared.
