I've been using Millers CFS in my turbo for the last 3 years, change it every year whether it needs it or not .

The real answer is that there is no one singular correct answer.

Oil changes depend more on the following:

Your location - heat and humidity swings cause more condensation - the water mixes with other stuff to create some fairly harsh chemicals).

Driving Style - do you drive long enough and often enough to boil off the water from condensation. Do you get the oil hot but not too hot. If you track the car with a stock oil cooler then frequent oil changes are mandatory

Engine condition - blow by, worn valve guides, over rich mixtures will all cause oil contamination. The worse your engine is the more often you should change your oil.

And lastly - mileage, that is the least important variable!

What's the best indication? if your oil looks and smells like crap then change it. Get used to looking at the oil on your dipstick and smelling it. You will soon be able to recognize burnt oil and see contaminates when you wipe the dipstick off on a paper towel.
