So what is the best way for a head to be worked to get in this neighborhood?

Port the intake area up to the intake valve?

How much larger an intake valve?

What will doing the above do to the torque curve?

And lastly what to do about the cam?

If you use a 2.7 head you need a 3.0 block due to the cooling passage (it can be modded if you really want).
