I don't really see what the issue is though. In my case it just reminds me to not do anything stupid in the car until its all warmed up. Like an engine safety feature or something.

Several good responses already for failed components but don't forget the easy and obvious....air leaks. Once I forgot to tighten the clamp for the J boot to the mass air sensor and air was allowed to enter the engine without being metered thru the sensor. Car ran like crap until enough heat to go to closed loop mode.

Mine runs great just as great hot or cold. It was about 35'F here this morning, I fired the car up, let it idle while for about a minute while I put my seatbelt on and found a good cd. I don't like to let it idle too long so I just take it easy while driving until it warms up.

For reference I have 83# injectors, very cold plugs, and using a Link MAP. If my car can idle 2 seconds after starting in 30'F weather, there's definately something wrong if yours can't. I agree with the others here, check the sensors listed.

i replaced the dme temp sensor this morning and it didn't help. it was running rough on the way to work until i stop at a red light. i shut the engine off for a minute or so then it ran good all the way to work. i am baffled. it seems to run bad even after it is warmed up until i shut it off and restart.

mine did that for awhile- it would run like crap until it warmed up then run fine. Finally one day it wouldnt start. I checked the plugs and they were drowned in fuel. Looked closely and found the vac line to the fuel regulator was off. Re-installed the vac. line and put some new plugs in and wala. Runs fine when cold.

Your ISV could be bad but the fact you say this happens until you shut the car of and restart makes me think it's still a sensor issue. I have heard the intake air temp sensor only takes a reading when the car is started and then is ignored. I have not been able to confirm this however, if it's true that is likely to cause exactly what you are seeing.

Pull the rubber boot back on the DME temp sensor plug and make sure the wires aren't touching each other. On mine the insulation had worn away & wasn't making a good connection. I replaced the connector with a new one.

i checked the said sensors and they are all fine. i started the engine cold and of course it was running rough. so i decided to unplug the oxygen sensor to see what would happen and everything went back to normal. i just replaced the o2 sensor with a universal one. im thinking there might be something with the wiring, so i will check there.

bill it can be a huge issue if his acts like mine. my issue wasnt just rough it would almost stall the car when i attempted to accelerate at all. nothing makes you hate driving a 951 like when that mom in a minivan just beat you off the line! i really hated to drive it until i fixed it.
hope you figure yours out soon nsyr defiantly check those dme harness wires

I was thinking the exact same thing, check all the vacuum lines. A couple of mine were going out and giving me some problems, now since I fixed, world of difference. I will admit that I do have a problem with my car when it is cold out (like 40's today) that the car has a HARD time getting traction much under 60MPH once the boost comes in!

i checked the resistance on the 3 wires going from the plug to the sensor and they all show 0 ohms. should there be any kind of resistance or has the wires melted together?
