Default Leaky turbo water pump

Is there a replaceable o-ring in there? It looks like its leaking from the hose when looking underneath, but the hose /clamp are new. I assume its leaking from the seam of the black plastic (held on w/ 4 screws) to the rest of the pump.

has anyone repaired a pump ?

thanks
mike

Yep, there are a couple of o-ring in there. I just had to replace one this summer on my S. Mine was leaking on top, right where the thermostat for the afterrun pump was located. I replaced the (small) thermostat at the same time as the o-ring. Leak gone.

Yes, very easy to replace. Just pull it out, remove the 4 screws, and inside is the oring. Go to the local hardware store and find one that will work. I use a small bit of aircraft permatex on the oring to make sure it seals, as the shape is slightly out of round (that the o ring has to form to)

Haven't installed the pump yet, but I just got an o-ring "# 76" from an Ace Hardware. Seems to be a great fit. 32 cents including tax

Replaced the o-ring, a few months later it leaked again......

Got a new Mercedes Benz 1980's 300 heater pump, bolts on just like the factory, swapped connectors....worked perfectly for $99 or so.

I have been running around trying to locate this O Ring with little success
I just called the local Ace H W store and the guys there says there isn't a 76...
There a 74 or 78 ??? but no 76 .. Is it possible there is a error in the number?
All the ones I have gotten ... are either too thick or thin ( but the right circular size )
TIA
Regards
Ed
