Default Bulging front bumper cover...

is there any way to bring it back to shape? My bumper cover has this bulge coming off the fender in front of the wheel. Just wondering if anyone has tried to fix it.

My 951 has it and so did my old 83 na. Its because they use plastic or whatever the hell it is. It gets tired and will only look better if replaced. I guess you could try to reinforce it somehow.

I want to calculate the correct curvature then have someone CNC a piece of metal to epoxy to the inside of the bumper cover. It bothers me so much that i'm often tempted to buy a brand new bumper cover for like 1200 dollars or whatever it costs.

Ryan- I feel the same way...I disliked the look of this so much I took a couple pieces of 1/8"x2"x10" aluminum and created what I thought was the original shape, then pop-riveted the braces just under the turn signal toward the batwing. I did this only as a temparary fix, thinking that there's got to be a better way and could fill the holes later when I re-paint. I will post pics later of my "temp fix".
Would an epoxy hold in that area?

If you removed the bumper cover and used a very good epoxy im confident that it would hold...

Look straight at the front of your car from about 20' away. If your bumper cover doesn't follow the same line down toward the batwing as your fender as it should, you have "bumper bulge"
Ryan- what type of epoxy resin would hold? It would have to have more flexibility that the standard boat type resins which will crack. Other than that, I can fabricate an aluminum gusset for reinforcment and then glass that in if there was a product that would hold.
