X-Post Head Gasket or oil cooler seals help please?
First off, I know I have asked about this in the past, however I took my car to a reputable Porsche mechanic and he told me that the moisture in my AOS was from not being driven enough. I didn't think anymore about it until tonight.
Here are my symptoms.
1. Rough starting when cold, normally dies after running for about 5 seconds and then restart and it is fine.
2. Moisture in AOS.
3.Loosing coolant slowly
4. The reason why I am very worried a little bit of coolant and oil mix in expansion tank as of tonight.
I have run compression tests in the past and all is fine. I have started and immediately pulled the plugs, NO STEAM CLEANING. No bubbles in coolant when car is running or is revved. Whats the deal, I have a big drive this weekend and would like to try and start taking the car apart to fix it.
Thanks,
Those that have done a headgasket, How bad is it?

took me 6 days at 3+ hours a day, but im very meticulous and I'm 19. Just take your time, follow the various writeups on rennlist, and bag/label everything. If i can do it, anyone can.

I found out today that it was my cooler seals, leakdown came back perfect according to the shop. He also pulled the housing and said there was nothing left of the seal, so he said he is positive the h.g. is good at this point. Thanks for all the help.

There is probably moisture in the crankcase from the seals failing. If there was nothing left of the seal, oil and coolant mixed throughout the coolant and oil systems. You need to flush the oil a couple of times too. That is why you are getting moisture on the bottom of the cap.
