Default zeitronix egt question

searched but didnt see any kind of answer-

i have a zt2 w/ a laust egt sensor hooked up to it. The other night while installing some chips i guess i pulled on the wire going to the zt box and pulled the wires for the egt out of the plug. Now these werent in there real good to begin with because the large wires barely fit into the dinky little clips anyway. I tried to put them back together and couldnt get it to register. I eventually shoved the wires into the zt box -only two wires- and it registered on the display just long enough for me to tell the reading was real low while dealing w/ my injector problem. Now i cant get the gauge to work doing it this way. I ordered an extension harness from zeitronix and i figured it would be way easier to splice this to the Laust thing than try to mess w/ the plug again- but is there a chance i messed up the ZT2 or the probe by touching the wires together??? Or am i just being over paranoid.

- i also ordered the boost sensor this time from Zeitronix so i can register boost readings while recording EGT, AFR, TPS and RPM- cool!

Can't help you with your problem, but you're gonna love the boost sensor!

I've had to replace my ZT2 pigtail because I accidentally pulled a wire or two out while stuffing it back up in there.

Anybody get different a/f's at the Dyno than the ZT2 gives? Different location maybe?? Mine showed richer at the ZT2 probe than the one up the tailpipe.

yeah you'll get a slightly different reading at the 02 up front than you will after its travelled another ten feet- especially if you have a cat that super heats the gas/air.

so any idea if touching those two wires will mess anything up? I doubt it but never know.

Very much doubt you harmed anything. Those little connectors are a weak link for the Zeitronix. Sure wish they would switch to something more sturdy. It's even more of a pain when a wire breaks on main harness. See this thread for single pin replacement info:

On mine, the dyno reads a bit richer...
