The guy I bought it from put $23k into the car restoring it. I had a binder full of reciepts from him. The car was painted at a local shop in TX. The 2.5L engine that was in it when I bought it was built by JAB racing. There was a vitesse stage 2 kit on it too. I put some $$ into the interior. I replaced the center console, all rocker switches, the door panels and redid the gauge lights, they were dull.

I know the current owner put a lot of money into this car and is well worth the selling price, especially with coil-over rear suspension. If you are looking for a vette conversion, or thinking of converting yours, this car is the finest example available.

If it were still the porsche engine, I would buy it back in a second.

Graphite metallic was also available in the NA 944

I don't think 85 951's were available in the US. It is by far my favorite color.

DON'T DO IT. My little bundle of joy came along 14months ago and I can say from experience that the 944 is a perfectly sensible car. I made my wife sell her BMW mini for something sensible and I kept the 944 as it had bigger rear seats than the Mini and a much bigger trunk. I have a child seat in the front passenger seat (no airbag) and it will also go in the rear seat but doesn't feels as secure as it does in the front. When she is in the car she is happy as a pig in muck.

When we go out as a family we take the sensible Ford Focus and when i'm out with the little 'un we take the 951. It's pointless having more than one sensible car in a family household.

My friend has a graphite metallic 87 turbo. As a matter of fact you can just see it in my sig picture of my 951. It is the black 951 next to me.

Nice color really. I have never been a fan of black, but like that color. In fact my BMW530 is a very similar metallic black and my frieds Graphite car was one reason I got this 530.

This is a very nice car. 24k is top dollar, but it appears this car is very well done not you run of the mill 944. Good luck!

I got the same rims in black with the custom offset... very good looking rims indeed

My god. That has got to be the best looking 951 I have ever seen. The color looks like black chrome.

I wish I could come up with another $11k! Absolutely stunning car. Whoever buys it, you must get them to join Rennlist (if not already). I want to see more of this car in the future.

What kind of power is it putting down?

I an the PO of this car when it did have the Vitesse stage 2 kit. I had it dyno'd and it put down 341 rwhp at 17psi I believe. The car was a rocket. I never launched the car from stop, but from a roll it was extremely fast. It also had a linsey racing stage 1 head job done with a SFR full 3 inch exhaust. From what I understand the LS6 conversion is around the same hp, but its a more reliable engine and I'm sure since its normally aspirated it has more low end tq.
