In Phoenix it is routinely 30-40 degrees for a morning commute in the dead of winter.

Personally even on a "drive to the track" track car I would keep heat around here. Showing up at the track at 7am on cold dark January morning and you really love having heat in the car.

oh come on joe, there is nothing better than driving to an event in 30 degree "heat" with the windows down... i hear it builds character. if nothing else, it will wake you up in the morning!

Its rarely cold enough around here to need heat.. and even when it is cold, I prob wouldnt be driving the 944 around since its my 2nd car.... I will try to get it fixed with the intake on but its a pain reaching back up in there.

Ross,
When you are used to racing in 100F temps.. 30F is down right scary.

BTW... when it is that I cold I just want to crawl back in bed and wait for to warm up.

Well almost. Sun is usally up by 7:30 am, but it often takes till about 10am before it gets to short sleeve weather (65-70F). It is kind of cold until then.

I have a couple pics that might be handy. It's 5/8" heater hose and I was able to do it with the intake on.

From (first pic) the hard line above the headers to the (second pic) fitting shown just above the 710 cap in the second pic.

Yeah...."eniac" helped me with mine this spring...I bypassed mine with a 3 1/2" length of 15/16" OD aluminum tube. He was right as usual, the heater still works fine when needed. Throw at least a blanket or comforter on the fender(chicks really dig that)to protect the car and dive in!........one word of CAUTION....make sure every little piece of that heater valve is out of the line if your HV is broken.

looks like i found the problem.....

what do I do with the black round thing and skinny line here?? (do I need to plug the line up somehow??

I guess I have two choices... Just use a metal bar where the old heater piece went or run a line from there to above the headers and get rid of the lines going into the firewall?

I would keep heat if I use a bar but lose heat if I deleted those hoses correct?

p.s thanks for all the help

Where are the pics? All I see is a MySpace page. If you can't post them here directly, email them to me at jkarendt at earthlink dot net and I'll post them for you.
