new 3.0 turbo member - advice please
Hi folks, I have a 3.0 944S2 Cab which os currently running 4.5lbs boost. The advice I need is on the vacuum connections, currently I run the stock S2 vac connections that is a hard nylon pipe that goes into rubber adapters in the manifold and map.
Howver I have run 5mm thick rubber vac lines into the wastegate and each end is clamped.
Do I need to clamp, the vac that goes to the ancilliaries and the fuel damper. or leave it as stock which is push fit? Same question as from manifold to map connection they are both tight push fit over barbed connections.
thanks
mike

Firstly let me welcome you by saying, you are going down in the world cup big time. haha
You can replace all the nylon pipe with silicon if you like, just grap some Samco vacuum hose and some brass T's from the local hardware store. Else, the 944 turbo stock hose setup uses the same technique, so I wouldnt be worried unless you find it slipping off.

Should we do a little re-cap of the history of Australia v's NZ in the world cup...I thought not. lol Be prepared for another week of national mourning in the Semis.
Look forward to seeing you on the road sometime Mike.

Hi Guys thansk for the advice feel better now I know you 951 guys use the same methods, I have replaced the old stuff with new brass fitting and tube, but thought there may be some magic way to secure the connections as they would get some boost pressure rather than just vacuum. My main focus up to now was ensuring the wastegate was secure.
NZ951, its always a good match when we get OZ vs NZ games no matter which rugby code, although I would not admit it down the pub I do have a soft spot for the Kiwis.
Can you send me the link to a dyno run you did, I saw it once and cant find it again - I run a 60-1 hifi like yours - loved the sound on the dyno video
333pg333, havent forgot the PM's we exchanged many months back will drop into the garage at some stage.
Duke, I will zip tie the rest of the small vac connections thanks for the suggestion. BTW I did post an update on the car a few weeks back here https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/374667-cross-post-new-944s2-turbo-cab.html

Great job there Mike! I didn't see your post before and having just read it I can only offer you my congrats. Do drop by the workshop one day. Friday arvo's are always good but anytime is fine I'm sure. We actually bought a lhd S2 coupe with the idea of tracking it and have contemplated turbo'ing it too, so I'm sure Sean and Bruce would love to see your beauty.

Rugby Union. There are teams from many different countries, but to be honest most of them are just making up the numbers. There are really only probably 3 or 4 teams that can win, with New Zealand the favourites (again) but have a history of being knocked out by Australia (Which they hate more than anything else in their whole lives...it's fantastic!!)

OK, Rugby is at least more known sports here in Europe compared for example to American football. It's odd to call it football because real football is played by feet, not hands.... Where else than the USA football is called soccer?

Actually it's called Soccer in Australia too. We have 4 codes of 'Football' here. Rugby League, Rugby Union, Australian Rules, and Soccer. Makes it hard to win world cups or similar in any of these sports when the talent is spread to 4 different codes.
